The 2022 Coudoulet de Beaucastel is a flagship Côtes du Rhône produced by Famille Perrin, one of the Rhône Valley's most respected wine families and owners of the renowned Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Often referred to as the "Baby Beaucastel," Coudoulet is sourced from vineyards located just east of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation boundary, sharing many of the same geological characteristics that have made Beaucastel one of the Rhône's benchmark estates.

The vineyard is planted on soils composed of clay, limestone and the famous rolled galets stones commonly associated with Châteauneuf-du-Pape. These stones absorb heat during the day and release it at night, promoting even ripening and contributing to the wine's depth and complexity. The 2022 vintage delivered healthy, ripe fruit with excellent concentration while retaining the freshness that defines the Perrin family's winemaking style.

The wine opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum, layered with notes of garrigue, black pepper, licorice and Provençal herbs. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, with ripe dark fruit supported by silky tannins and balanced acidity. Syrah contributes spice and structure, while Grenache provides generosity and fruit expression. The finish is long and savoury, with lingering notes of herbs and mineral complexity.
