Tasting Notes :

Foradori is one of Italy's most influential wineries and the estate most closely associated with the revival of the indigenous Teroldego grape. Established in 1901 in Mezzolombardo, Trentino, the estate is led by Elisabetta Foradori, whose pioneering work transformed Teroldego from a local variety into one of Italy's most respected native grapes. The vineyards lie within the Campo Rotaliano, an alluvial plain formed by the Noce and Adige rivers, where gravel, sand and dolomitic limestone soils provide ideal conditions for Teroldego. Certified biodynamic since 2009, the estate employs spontaneous fermentations, minimal intervention and sustainable farming to produce wines of exceptional purity and terroir expression.

Made from 100% Teroldego, this wine is sourced from approximately 10 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards, with vines planted between 1956 and 2005. Hand-harvested fruit undergoes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, with a portion of whole clusters retained depending on the vintage. The wine is then matured for around 12 months in concrete tanks and large neutral oak foudres (20–40 hL), preserving the grape's vibrant fruit, mineral character and freshness. Medium-bodied yet structured, it combines lively acidity with silky tannins and excellent ageing potential.

Deep ruby-purple in colour. The nose is immediately expressive, offering aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and raspberry layered with crushed violets, fresh herbs, mint and subtle menthol notes, alongside hints of wet stone. The palate is supple and energetic, revealing juicy red berry fruit framed by vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral backbone. Fine-grained tannins lend structure without heaviness, while notes of spice and earthy complexity emerge towards a long, savoury and refreshing finish. Elegant, vibrant and unmistakably alpine, it is a benchmark expression of Teroldego from the Campo Rotaliano.

"There's a pretty herbal and mentholated freshness... bright strawberry and cherry, rosy florals and crushed stone... soft-textured yet potent... finishes fresh and juicy, leaving sweet tannins to linger." -- Vinous, Eric Guido
