Tenuta Perano is one of the flagship estates of the historic Marchesi Frescobaldi family, whose winemaking heritage in Tuscany spans more than 700 years. Located in Gaiole in Chianti, at elevations between 450 and 600 metres above sea level, the estate occupies a natural amphitheatre with south-west-facing vineyards that enjoy abundant sunshine and significant day-to-night temperature variation. These conditions favour the slow, even ripening of Sangiovese, producing wines with aromatic intensity, vibrant acidity and refined tannins. Since acquiring the estate in 2014, Frescobaldi has established Tenuta Perano as a benchmark for modern Chianti Classico, combining traditional Tuscan character with precision and elegance.

Predominantly Sangiovese, with small proportions of traditional Chianti Classico varieties, this wine is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks before maturing for 12 months, partly in French oak barrels and partly in stainless steel. The style is medium- to full-bodied, balancing ripe red fruit with fresh acidity, polished tannins and subtle oak influence. The high-altitude vineyards lend excellent freshness and structure, making the wine approachable in its youth while offering the potential for medium-term cellaring.

Bright ruby red in colour. The bouquet opens with expressive aromas of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry and sour cherry, followed by delicate floral notes of violet and subtle hints of clove and black pepper. The palate is beautifully balanced, combining vibrant red and dark berry fruit with lively acidity and dense, velvety tannins. Layers of cherry, spice and gentle oak unfold across a harmonious, well-proportioned palate, leading to a fresh, persistent finish marked by elegance, purity and impressive length.
