The 2020 Darmagi is characterized as a refined and elegant vintage, noted for being more subtle and light on its feet than previous editions while still maintaining depth and power.
Color: Intense, deep red, almost black.
Nose: Complex aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, and dark cherries are complemented by notes of graphite, violets, mint, cedar, and tobacco. Hints of forest floor, wood bark, iodine, and sweet oak spices are also present.
Palate: Full-bodied with a smooth, velvety, and dense texture. Flavors of rich dark fruits, black raspberry, and red plum unfold with layers of new Italian leather, nutmeg spice, and tobacco.
Structure and Finish: The wine has a solid structure with fine-grained, well-mannered, and polished tannins, supported by fresh, vibrant acidity. The finish is long, persistent, mineral-driven, and elegant, with a subtle touch of savory herbs or an iron element.
This wine has excellent aging potential and is a "Cellar Selection" that can be enjoyed from now through 2045 or beyond.
