| Tasting Notes |
La Croix de Brully is a boutique Burgundy producer that focuses on small-volume wines from carefully selected vineyards throughout the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Rather than owning extensive vineyard holdings, the domaine works with trusted growers to showcase the character of individual climats. The emphasis is on expressing terroir with restrained oak influence and traditional Burgundian winemaking. Les Borniques is one of Chambolle-Musigny's 24 Premier Cru vineyards, covering just over 1.4 hectares. Located immediately south of the renowned Les Amoureuses, it shares similar limestone-rich soils and an east-facing exposure. Although historically overshadowed by its famous neighbour, Les Borniques has gained increasing recognition for producing wines of remarkable finesse and ageing potential. The 2022 vintage is elegant and perfumed, displaying the classic refinement associated with Chambolle-Musigny. Expect aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and rose petals, complemented by subtle violet, spice and mineral notes. The palate is silky and medium-bodied with vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins and a long, graceful finish. The warm yet balanced 2022 growing season has given the wine generous fruit while preserving freshness and precision. |
