The 2020 Sorì Tildìn is characterized by a powerful yet graceful profile, often described as more mineral-driven and potentially a "darker, more somber" expression compared to other Gaja single-vineyard wines in the same vintage.
Aroma: The nose offers a lively and fragrant sensation, with prominent notes of wild red cherry, rose petal, plum, and pomegranate. Intertwined layers of savory herbs, black pepper, tar, crushed stone, and subtle hints of orange peel and iron provide complexity.
Palate: The palate is full-bodied and complex, balancing dense fruit concentration with vibrant acidity. Flavors of ripe red berries, dried cherry, licorice, and hints of mint and forest floor are present. It is noted for its powerful, very well-integrated, fine-grained, and often chalky tannins, which provide a solid foundation for future aging.
Finish: The wine exhibits a persistent, long, polished, and savory finish that often lingers with mineral and spicy echoes.
This is a wine built for the long haul and will benefit from significant cellaring; it is recommended to be enjoyed from around 2026 to 2050 and beyond.
