This 2010 Reserva is a blend of Tempranillo with 5% Mazuelo (Cariñena), matured in a mixture of new and used French and Caucasian oak barrels for 20 months. There is a jump in quality, subtlety and balance in this 2010, as it feels like the best wine they have released so far. Bright ruby-colored, it has a subtle nose of red berries and spices. The palate is soft and with very fine tannins, highly drinkable with good acidity. This is clearly more modern than the wines from La Rioja Alta, but with a foot strongly set into Riojan classicism. Super! And great value for money. |
