Antica Terra is one of Oregon's most acclaimed wineries, founded in 2005 and led by owner and winemaker Maggie Harrison, formerly of Sine Qua Non. Based in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the estate has earned an international reputation for producing distinctive, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Rather than relying on single-vineyard prestige alone, Antica Terra employs extensive barrel selection and blending to create wines that best express each vintage. The estate is widely regarded as one of the benchmark producers in the Willamette Valley. Exquisite Corpse takes its name from the Surrealist artistic technique cadavre exquis, in which multiple contributors create a work collaboratively. The wine reflects this philosophy by blending exceptional parcels from different vineyard sites across the Willamette Valley, resulting in a Pinot Noir that is greater than the sum of its parts. It is crafted to showcase elegance, complexity and the distinctive personality of the vintage. The 2022 vintage is beautifully perfumed and expressive, offering aromas of black cherry, wild raspberry, cranberry and plum layered with rose petals, orange peel, forest floor, baking spice, black tea and crushed stone. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and remarkable precision. While approachable in its youth, the wine possesses the structure and balance for graceful ageing. The hallmark of Antica Terra is not power, but texture, energy and extraordinary complexity.
