Tasting Note | : |
The wine has a great fruit expression that is well integrated with French oak. The soil characteristics have come through in the style of wine we have today. The palate is fine but firm, with great acidity, texture and length. This wine is rich in flavour, yet very refined. We get richness of fruit and oak, we get a chalk-like element, we get river stones, and we get crushes of grapefruit pulp and nectarine. In short, it's gorgeousness in a glass. It has power, finesse, length and all the things we desire in wine. Drink by 2032. Halliday Wine Companion. Medium-light, bright yellow hue; cashew, lemon and talc to sniff, a suggestion of citrus blossoms - fresh and clean and youthful. The bright and joyous vigour runs throughout the wine. A note of toasted hazelnut starting up. The finish is refreshingly dry, clean and appetising. There's an appealing balance between concentration and delicacy, and it promises to develop in a rewarding way with time. An outstanding young chardonnay with lots more to offer. Drink: 2023–2037.
