Bordeaux En Primeur 2025
Every year, Bordeaux asks the world to take a leap of faith — to buy wines before they're bottled, on the promise of what's in the barrel. In 2025, that leap is easier to make.
The growing season was extreme by any measure: a drought-stricken summer, nearly 40 days above 30°C, and rainfall that held off until late August. Yet the wines defied expectations. Lower than anticipated alcohols, vibrant natural acidity, and tannins that are refined rather than grippy — 2025 is what critics are calling a "paradoxical" vintage: a hot year that produced wines of balance and restraint.
On the Left Bank, Pauillac stands out as the appellation's most consistent performance in recent memory, with top estates delivering across all price points. On the Right Bank, Saint-Émilion and Pomerol thrived on their clay and limestone soils, producing Merlot of plush depth and impressive freshness.
Yields are down 15–30% in key appellations. Supply is tight, and the best wines will not linger at En Primeur prices. Secure your allocation now — bottles ship upon release in 2028.
