This is a small production of just 986 bottles that Luca Roagna sources from a tiny parcel that he once described to me as a "house garden" more than a vineyard. The 2017 Barolo del Comune di Barolo is made with fruit from Terlo, and the vines are more than 50 years old. There is a hint of ripeness from the hot vintage with baked plum and blackcurrant. But the wine shows a nuanced and complex side with layers of grilled herb and crushed flowers. - Robert Parker Supple and intense, with cherry, strawberry, earth and tomato leaf flavors embedded in a viscous texture. Reveals pointed tannins that gird the finish. Shows fine balance and length. Best from 2025 through 2042. 82 cases made. - Wine Spectator |
