Tasting Notes | : |
The brightness and purity of fruit is so beautiful here, showing flowers and currants. Very aromatic. Lots of finesse and focus on the medium-bodied palate with super-fine tannins and a lovely finish. Lively. 65% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc. Why wait on this? - James Suckling Rich, impenetrable, dark shiny ruby colour. Fine bouquet, subtle notes of blackcurrant, followed by mocha and cocoa. Impressive and delicate on the palate, elegant and expansive, well-integrated wood, fine tannins, animating to drink, retronasal herbal spice and a long, persistent finish with a fine tannin structure. - Falstaff The 2022 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is everything a second wine should be. Open and racy, the 2022 caresses the palate with juicy red fruits. Floral and spicy notes with a hint of blood orange open up the wine on the mid-palate and finish. Soft, silky tannins round off the whole. This stylish red wine from Ornellaia is a real eye-catcher. - Vinous A soft red wine that produces aromas and flavours of cedar, plums, blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla and resin. Broad and dense, with accents of leather, earth and tobacco on the long finish. - Wine Spectator This vintage is structured and rich with sweet tannins and a smooth texture. This hot vintage certainly brings more fruit weight, but the wine remains fresh and well balanced overall. - Wine Advocate |
