Tasting Notes :

The NV La Rogerie Niedermorschwihr Réserve Perpétuelle Pinots NV22 is a rare still white wine from Alsace, produced by La Rogerie, the estate founded by grower-Champagne producer Thibaud Pouillon and his wife, Flavie Berleand. While La Rogerie is best known for its highly regarded Champagnes, the estate has also established a small project in Alsace, focusing on terroir-driven wines from carefully selected vineyard sites and low-intervention winemaking.

This cuvée originates from Niedermorschwihr, one of Alsace's most distinctive wine villages, situated beneath the slopes of the Grand Cru Sommerberg. The vineyards are planted on granite-rich soils that contribute freshness, tension and mineral complexity. The term Réserve Perpétuelle refers to a perpetual reserve system, where wines from multiple vintages are blended and replenished over time, creating additional depth and complexity while preserving a consistent expression of place. As the name suggests, the wine is produced from Pinot varieties, reflecting the historic importance of the Pinot family in Alsace viticulture.

The NV22 release opens with aromas of citrus peel, yellow apple and pear, complemented by notes of white flowers, almond and crushed stone. On the palate, it is textured yet vibrant, with bright acidity supporting a core of orchard fruit and subtle savoury nuances. The perpetual reserve component contributes additional layers of complexity and depth, while the granite-influenced terroir provides a persistent mineral backbone and long, saline finish.

Réserve Perpétuelle bottlings have become increasingly sought after among wine enthusiasts for their ability to combine freshness with the complexity typically associated with bottle age. This wine reflects a growing movement among Alsace producers to focus on site expression, old-vine material and traditional cellar practices rather than varietal-driven styles alone.
