Sunawi is a small, natural wine estate located in the Valtènesi area on the western shores of Lake Garda in Lombardy. The winery follows a low-intervention philosophy, farming morainic soils with minimal inputs and producing tiny quantities of handcrafted wines from indigenous yeasts. Fermentations are spontaneous, wines are bottled unfiltered and unfined, and sulphur additions are kept exceptionally low. Riesling has become one of Sunawi's signature varieties, thriving in the cool, lake-influenced climate to produce wines of purity, freshness and pronounced minerality. The Pet Not! 2021 is an example of the estate's experimental approach—a wine originally intended to be a pétillant naturel but which ultimately completed fermentation as a still wine, resulting in a distinctive and limited-release expression of Riesling. Only 1,267 bottles were produced.

A dry white wine made from 100% Riesling grown on 25-year-old vines planted in morainic soils overlooking Lake Garda. Although conceived as a pétillant naturel, the wine naturally evolved into a still wine during vinification. It underwent spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in fibreglass tanks and was bottled unfiltered and unfined, with only 16 mg/L total sulphur, preserving its vibrant fruit character, texture and natural energy. The result is a light- to medium-bodied Riesling with bright acidity, floral aromatics and a saline finish.

Pale straw yellow in colour. The nose is fragrant and expressive, opening with aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and ripe plums, supported by delicate citrus and orchard fruit notes. The palate is fresh, lively and beautifully textured, combining crisp stone fruit flavours with vibrant acidity and a subtle mineral edge derived from the morainic soils. Naturally fermented and bottled without fining or filtration, it displays purity, energy and a gentle savoury character, culminating in a clean, persistent finish with impressive freshness.
