Domaine Robert Ampeau & Fils is one of Meursault's most historic family estates, dating back to the early 19th century. The domaine is renowned for its traditional philosophy of releasing wines only after extended cellaring, allowing them to develop complexity before reaching the market. This patient approach has earned the estate a loyal following among collectors seeking mature white Burgundy. Les Perrières is widely regarded as Meursault's finest Premier Cru and is often considered worthy of Grand Cru status. Its name derives from the old stone quarries (pierres) that once occupied the site. The vineyard's shallow, stony limestone soils produce wines of exceptional precision, minerality and longevity, combining power with remarkable elegance. The 2022 Meursault Perrières displays the hallmark tension of this celebrated climat. Aromas of white flowers, citrus zest, fresh pear and green apple are layered with notes of toasted hazelnut, butter, flint and wet stone. The palate is concentrated yet finely chiselled, offering a silky texture balanced by vibrant acidity and a pronounced saline mineral finish. The warm 2022 growing season provided generous fruit concentration while preserving freshness, making this a vintage of both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential.
