Domaine Bonneau du Martray is one of Burgundy's most celebrated estates and the largest single owner of vineyards in Corton-Charlemagne. For generations, the domaine has been dedicated almost exclusively to the Grand Cru vineyards of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne, earning a reputation for producing some of the world's finest expressions of Chardonnay. Since 2017, under the ownership of Stan Kroenke, the estate has continued its commitment to organic and biodynamic farming, low-intervention winemaking and meticulous parcel-by-parcel vinification.

The Grand Cru vineyard occupies the upper slopes of the Hill of Corton across the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. Thin limestone-rich soils over marl provide exceptional drainage and impart the hallmark chalky minerality that defines great Corton-Charlemagne. The 2022 vintage was vinified by individual parcels before blending, preserving the unique expression of each site.

The 2022 is a remarkably complete Corton-Charlemagne, combining richness with precision. Aromas of ripe citrus, white peach, nectarine and orchard fruit are layered with flint, beeswax, toasted hazelnut, fresh bread, chamomile and subtle vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and satiny, with impressive concentration balanced by vibrant acidity and a powerful chalky mineral backbone. Despite the warmth of the vintage, the wine retains outstanding freshness and energy, finishing with exceptional length. It is approachable by the standards of young Corton-Charlemagne but possesses the structure for decades of evolution.
