Domaine Henri Magnien et Fils
Considered by some to be one of the rising stars in Burgundy, Domaine Henri Magnien is a small family estate, standing at about six hectares, in Gevrey-Chambertin. Despite it's relatively you ng age in comparison to other estates, the domaine itself is blessed with plenty of old vines called Pinot Noir Magnien, which are aged between seventy to one-hundred years old. These vines bring a unique power and spiciness to the wines, and the extraction is gentle with a bespoke light toast oak to minimise oak influence.
The domaine has many of the very best vineyards, including Lavaux St-Jacques, Les Cazetiers and Ruchottes-Chambertin. In the past five years, they have converted 70-80% of their vineyards to organic viticulture.
