Tasting Notes :

Ca' del Bosco is widely regarded as one of Italy's greatest sparkling wine producers and a pioneer of modern Franciacorta. Founded in the late 1960s by Maurizio Zanella, the estate helped transform Franciacorta into Italy's premier traditional-method sparkling wine region. The winery is renowned for meticulous vineyard management, its innovative grape-washing system, gravity-flow winemaking and extended lees ageing. Today, the estate farms 31 certified organic vineyards, producing wines that rival many of Champagne's finest prestige cuvées.

Annamaria Clementi is the flagship wine of Ca' del Bosco, named in honour of Annamaria Clementi Zanella, the mother of founder Maurizio Zanella. Produced only in exceptional vintages, it was first released with the 1979 harvest.

The 2014 vintage was particularly demanding, with a cool, wet growing season requiring rigorous vineyard selection. Only the finest base wines from 22 individual lots were chosen for the final blend. Each parcel was vinified separately in small oak casks, where fermentation and malolactic conversion took place before blending. The wine then spent more than eight years ageing on its lees before disgorgement and was released without dosage (Dosage Zéro) to preserve purity and terroir expression.

The 2014 Annamaria Clementi is remarkably refined and precise. Aromas of lemon zest, white peach, baked apple and acacia blossom are layered with toasted brioche, roasted hazelnut, almond cream and delicate pastry notes. Extended lees ageing contributes exceptional complexity and an ultra-fine mousse, while the zero dosage accentuates the wine's chalky minerality, vibrant acidity and long saline finish. Despite the challenging vintage, the wine is elegant, focused and built for long ageing.

" Complex aromas of lemon curd, toasted almonds, white flowers, oyster shell and brioche. Powerful yet crystalline, with exceptional precision, energy and a remarkably long mineral finish." --  James Suckling

" Highlighted the wine's purity, chalky minerality and refined texture, describing it as one of Italy's benchmark traditional-method sparkling wines. " -- Decanter
