Todos, which translates as “all” in Spanish, is Jonata’s most democratic and expansive wine: a blend incorporating every variety grown on the property, assembled by Matt Dees to produce the most complete snapshot of the Ballard Canyon estate in a given vintage. The wine functions as both a statement of the property’s diverse plantings and a demonstration of the site’s inherent suitability for a wide range of red varieties. Released at a more approachable price point than the flagship Sangre or Desafio, Todos has built its own loyal following.

The 2019 Todos is composed of 48% Syrah, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah, 9% Merlot, 2% Sangiovese and assorted other varieties, with a portion co-fermented. Ballard Canyon’s deep Careaga sand provided the ideal medium for the 2019 growing season, which delivered healthy fruit across the estate’s varied plantings. The blend spends part of its elevage in 40% new French oak and 60% neutral oak. The 2019 was described by Matt Dees as one of the most balanced and food-friendly Todos to date, offering fruit, structure and complexity in equal measure.

Wine Enthusiast awarded the 2019 Todos 97 points and James Suckling 96, recognition that underlines how seriously this “enterprising” blended wine is regarded outside of Jonata’s flagship range. Top restaurants across the United States list Todos specifically for its food-friendly versatility and its ability to bridge the gap between the concentration of the single-varietal Sangre and the accessibility needed at the dining table. The wine is produced in approximately 2,400 cases, making it comfortably the most available wine in the Jonata portfolio.
