Tasting Note :

The Hommage Parcellaire Les Roches is Andre Heucq's tribute to a specific parcel in the estate's Cuisles holdings, Les Roches (The Rocks), whose name signals the particular rocky, stony character of its subsoil within the broader Vallee de la Marne terroir. As a vintage Champagne from 2016, this cuvee represents a deliberate effort to document what a specifically named parcel can produce in a single year, reflecting the estate's broader philosophy of expressing Pinot Meunier's terroir specificity.

The 2016 Champagne vintage was challenging and small, marked by spring frost, mildew pressure and an uneven flowering that required rigorous selection in the cellar. Estates that navigated 2016's difficulties found that the surviving fruit was of outstanding concentration and character, with wines showing notable tension and a mineral-driven freshness alongside ripe fruit. At a Marne Valley producer using primarily Pinot Meunier, the vintage's concentration further amplifies the variety's characteristic warmth and richness.

Parcel-specific Champagne from small grower-producers in the Marne Valley has attracted a growing following among enthusiasts of artisan grower wines who seek granular terroir specificity. For Andre Heucq, whose range demonstrates an unusually complete exploration of Pinot Meunier across multiple formats (sparkling, still white, still rose, Ratafia), the Hommage Parcellaire is the highest expression of a single defined site rather than the house blend. The 2016's age gives it additional bottle complexity at this stage.

Drink now through 2028. Serve at 9 to 11 degrees Celsius. An ideal aperitif or companion for white fish, delicate mushroom preparations or soft cheese.

Golden-amber with a fine, mature mousse. The nose shows developed Meunier character: dried golden fruit, warm brioche, fine spice and a faint earthy complexity from the rocky parcel. The palate is rich and concentrated with a broad, textured mid-palate and a long, spiced finish. Mature and complex for a small-producer vintage Champagne.
