Tasting Note :

Domaine A.F. Gros was established by Anne-Françoise Gros, combining her own Vosne-Romanee holdings with those of her husband François Parent in a ten-hectare estate spanning Richebourg, Echezeaux, Chambolle-Musigny, Pommard and Vosne-Romanee. Today the estate is directed by their children Caroline and Mathias Parent, with Mathias handling production. The estate's approach has evolved under the younger generation to incorporate more whole-bunch fermentation, particularly for the premier cru and Grand Cru cuvees.

Aux Echanges is a premier cru lieu-dit in Chambolle-Musigny, from which A.F. Gros produces one of the estate's most refined cuvees. The wine is produced from bought-in fruit from this specific climat, vinified with a minimum of 50% whole clusters to achieve both spice complexity and aromatic purity. The 2023 vintage in Chambolle-Musigny was warm and generous, delivering wines of ripe, expressive fruit with soft tannin structures that are approachable relatively young for a premier cru.

The Gros family's influence across Vosne-Romanee and the Cote de Nuits ensures a consistent baseline of quality and critical interest across all of the connected estates. A.F. Gros premier cru Chambolle wines have attracted consistent coverage from specialist importers and collectors, and the combination of the appellation's perfumed, delicate character with the estate's evolved approach to whole-bunch fermentation produces wines of real distinction.

Drink from 2027 to 2044 per Berry Bros. & Rudd. Pair with roast guinea fowl, pigeon, light game or creamy mushroom preparations. Decant one hour on opening.

Pale ruby with a translucent edge. A spicy, floral bouquet shows whole-bunch character with red cherry, rose petal, violet and sweet spice. The palate is elegant, with a playful character, bright red fruit, fine-grained tannins and a clean, persistent finish of real refinement. Classic Chambolle with the additional dimension of whole-cluster fermentation.
