Medium ruby-colored, the 2015 Barbaresco Crichet Paje offers another level of purity in its ripe fruit notes of candied roses, pure raspberries, wet stones, and peaches. This continues to the palate with fantastic length and balance, a seamless structure, and a long, haunting finish with lovely intensity and finesse. Outstanding and fresh, it can be enjoyed over the next 30 years. Bravo. - Jeb Dunnuck Luca Roagna’s 2015 Roagna Barbaresco Crichët Pajé is magnificent. A towering wine, the 2015 captivates the intellectual and hedonistic senses with its dynamic personality. Floral notes meld into beautifully sculpted fruit as the 2015 gradually opens over time. Although very much a young wine, the 2015 can be enjoyed now with minimal cellaring. I have no doubt it will be even better in the future. The 2015 is a great example of the finesse Luca Roagna has brought to his family’s wines through an increased focus on farming and, just as importantly, a reduction of the time these wines spend in oak in favor of more time in cement. Superb. (AG) - Vinous An opulent style, this complex red offers notes of cherry, plum, rose, fresh herbs, licorice, tar and mineral, with layers of flavor and texture unfolding as this builds to a long and nuanced aftertaste, where a stony mineral component lingers. So fresh, it's hard to believe this is closing in on a decade already. Best from 2025 through 2045. 140 cases made. (BS) - Wine Spectator |
