Tasting notes | : | The 2014 Syrah Dusty Lane comes from another Sonoma Coast vineyard planted in Goldridge soils, this one south-facing. Sussman used 39% whole clusters and aged the wine 21 months in 20% new French oak before bottling it unfined and unfiltered. This is a big St.-Joseph/Crozes-Hermitage style of Syrah from California, with a dense purple color and a big, sweet kiss of damp earth, ground pepper, steak tartare, black olive tapenade, blackberry and cassis. It is layered, full-bodied, juicy, and stunningly rich and long. Wine Advocate |
