Sassicaia wines today are known for being elegant, supple and delicious. But this wasn’t always this case. Originally an experiment by Marchese Mario, he sought to make wines that rival those in Bordeaux, in his own country of Italy— making Sassicaia one of the original Super Tuscan wines.
