Krug Grande Cuvée is the flagship Champagne of the historic House of Krug, founded in 1843 and renowned for its uncompromising pursuit of quality. Rather than expressing a single vintage, it is crafted to recreate the House's vision of the fullest expression of Champagne, presented here in an elegant gift box. Produced from a blend of more than 120 wines drawn from over ten vintages, Grande Cuvée combines Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier sourced from carefully selected vineyards across Champagne. Extensive cellar ageing and meticulous blending create remarkable complexity while maintaining freshness, precision and consistency from edition to edition. The wine opens with aromas of brioche, toasted hazelnuts, citrus peel, baked apple and white flowers, underpinned by subtle notes of honey and almond. The palate is layered and richly textured, balanced by vibrant acidity and a fine, persistent mousse. Mineral nuances and savoury depth lead to an exceptionally long, poised and refined finish. Krug Grande Cuvée is widely regarded as one of Champagne's definitive multi-vintage cuvées, admired by collectors, sommeliers and enthusiasts alike. Its consistency, ageing potential and intricate blend set it apart from conventional non-vintage Champagnes, while the presentation gift box makes it an exceptional choice for gifting and special occasions. " Vibrant and rich, statuesque yet graceful, this lovely Champagne offers an expansive range of patisserie apple and pear fruit, grilled macadamia nut, lime and tangerine peel notes, with fragrant saffron, clove, espresso and mineral accents. A lithe, focused spine of lemony acidity and an underlying streak of salinity are enmeshed in the flavor profile, and the fine, satinlike mousse carries everything on the long, mouthwatering finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. Disgorged winter 2023–2024. Drink now through 2040. " -- Wine Spectator |
