| Tasting Notes |
Founded in 1729, Ruinart is the oldest established Champagne house and is renowned for its elegant, Chardonnay-led style. Ruinart Rosé is one of the maison's signature cuvées, while the Second Skin Gift Pack reflects its commitment to sustainable luxury through an innovative recyclable paper presentation that replaces the traditional gift box. The blend combines Chardonnay with Pinot Noir, including a proportion of still red wine from Champagne to provide colour, aromatic depth and structure. Fruit is sourced from leading Premier Cru vineyards across the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne. Extended lees ageing enhances texture, finesse and complexity. The bouquet is expressive, offering aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and blood orange alongside delicate floral notes and subtle brioche. The palate is supple and refined, with a creamy mousse, vibrant acidity and a fine chalky mineral backbone. Layers of red berry fruit, citrus zest and gentle spice culminate in a fresh, persistent finish with impressive balance. Ruinart Rosé is widely regarded as one of Champagne's benchmark non-vintage rosés, admired for its precision, freshness and understated elegance. The Second Skin presentation has become an industry reference for environmentally conscious packaging, reinforcing the house's reputation for combining heritage, innovation and exceptional craftsmanship. " A spicy wine with singed bread and bark as well as strawberries and cherries. Light-bodied, it has a tight-knit structure with zesty acidity and a long, refreshing finish. Very precise and polished. " -- James Suckling |
