The bouquet is complex and detailed, talcy and chalky, a touch of parmesan rind, even applecake; while youthful, there is a suggestion of lees ageing, contributing to its umami-like savouriness. The wine is delicate and refined, subtle and very lively with zippy acidity and mouth-watering properties. Light and undemanding but it has more palate weight than the Kayagatake. - Huon Hooke |
