Founded in 1881, Jermann is one of Friuli-Venezia Giulia's most iconic wineries and a pioneer in elevating Italian white wines to international acclaim. Under the visionary leadership of the late Silvio Jermann, the estate transformed the perception of Friulian wines through meticulous vineyard management, modern winemaking techniques and an unwavering focus on quality. Situated in the Collio and Venezia Giulia appellations near the Slovenian border, Jermann benefits from the region's unique combination of marl and sandstone ("ponca") soils, Alpine influences and Adriatic breezes. While celebrated for its flagship Vintage Tunina and Where Dreams Have No End Chardonnay, the estate's classic Chardonnay is recognised for its purity, freshness and varietal expression. Vinification: Fermented and aged on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks for approximately six months, followed by bottle ageing before release. Style: A fresh, fruit-driven dry Chardonnay that emphasises varietal purity rather than oak influence. Medium-bodied with lively acidity, crisp minerality and vibrant orchard fruit, making it a versatile food wine. The wine shows a brilliant straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The bouquet is intense and expressive, offering aromas of ripe apple, banana, citrus and delicate white flowers, accompanied by subtle mineral nuances. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, with flavours of crisp orchard fruits, lemon zest and stone fruit supported by bright acidity and a clean, persistent finish. Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel preserve the wine's aromatic freshness and highlight the natural elegance of Chardonnay grown in Friuli's cool climate.
