Domaine Arnaud Tessier is a Meursault-based estate producing a carefully considered range of white and red Burgundy from holdings across several appellations. The village-level Meursault is the estate's Chardonnay base expression, combining fruit from the estate's parcels within the village and commune of Meursault to produce a wine of regional character and the approachable warmth that the 2022 vintage delivered across the southern Cote de Beaune. Meursault as an appellation is the Cote de Beaune's most famous white wine village, sitting between Puligny-Montrachet to the south and Volnay and Pommard to the north. The village is celebrated for the richness, texture and nutty complexity that its limestone-clay soils and demi-muids-style elevage traditionally impart. At the village level, wines from conscientious small producers often overdeliver relative to the appellation's commercial reputation, offering honest terroir character at prices well below the premier crus. The 2022 vintage across Meursault was warm and concentrated, producing white wines of ripe stone fruit and generous body with good natural balance. For Chardonnay in the 2022 vintage, the warmth delivered wine of immediate appeal and approachability, making the current release accessible from release while retaining sufficient acidity for short-term cellaring of three to five years. Drink from 2024 to 2029. Serve at 12 degrees Celsius alongside grilled turbot, white fish with butter sauce, roast chicken or mild washed-rind cheese. Pale gold with green tints. The nose shows white peach, lemon zest, light hazelnut and a subtle oak-spice note from barrel elevage. The palate is medium-bodied with good fruit concentration, a creamy texture, fresh acidity and a clean, mineral-edged finish. Honest, well-made Meursault village wine for early drinking. |
