The best showing yet for this wine, the 2006 Jonata Winery La Sangre de Jonata displays a spicy, mineral laced profile with smoky black fruits, coffee, and meaty notes, full body, solid concentration, and a tannic, long finish. Despite the size and structure, this stays beautifully balanced and shows an elegant, focused profile. Give bottles another year or two and then drink over the following decade. - Jeb Dunnuck (100% syrah) Inky purple. Intensely perfumed nose displays sexy dark berry, incense and smoky mineral scents. Sweet black raspberry and cassis flavors are brightened by candied violet and tangy minerals, with no meaty or gamey qualities showing.
