The 2017 Skyline Vineyard Pinot Noir is noted for a balance of power and elegance at a moderate alcohol level (around 12.9%).
Aroma: The nose is complex and layered, with notes of sweet dark berries, black plums, wild blackberries, raw cocoa, and a hint of game bird. Savory and spicy elements, including cinnamon, licorice, mint, lavender, and crushed rocks, are also prominent, along with subtle floral nuances like lilacs and violets.
Palate: The wine is full-bodied yet focused and transparent, with a sappy core of fruit and a leathery texture. Flavors of wild cherry, kirsch, hard candy, mint, leather, and sweet tobacco are framed by firm, grainy tannins and bright acidity.
