Still in barrel, unracked. Lemon and lime, a mild reduction gives some grip to the nose in the way that the Charmes does not. This has a wonderful volume of fruit in the mouth, fills out the back of the palate and good acidity. Fair to long finish. - Jasper Morris The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet La Combette 1er Cru has a wonderful, tensile, energetic bouquet with even more mineralité than the excellent Chalumaux. The palate is very well balanced with lemon rind, orange pith and mandarin, good extract and density towards the finish with quite a spicy, stem ginger and lemongrass tinged finish that lingers in the mouth.
