| Tasting Notes |
Rock Angel is a premium rosé from Caves d'Esclans, the Provençal estate that helped redefine the global perception of fine rosé. Positioned between Whispering Angel and the estate’s Garrus and Les Clans cuvées, it offers greater depth, structure and complexity while retaining the elegance that characterises Côtes de Provence. The 2024 vintage is crafted primarily from Grenache and Rolle, with Syrah contributing aromatic lift and structure. Fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across the Côtes de Provence, where warm Mediterranean conditions and mineral-rich soils encourage ripe flavours balanced by freshness. Partial fermentation and maturation in large oak barrels add texture without dominating the fruit. The bouquet reveals aromas of white peach, pink grapefruit and wild strawberry, complemented by subtle floral notes, citrus zest and a touch of toasted almond. The palate is layered and refined, with a silky texture supported by vibrant acidity and delicate mineral tension. Flavours of ripe red berries, stone fruit and savoury spice lead to a long, dry finish with impressive precision. Rock Angel has established itself as one of Provence's leading premium rosés, appealing to collectors, sommeliers and enthusiasts seeking a more gastronomic style. Its balance of freshness, texture and understated complexity demonstrates the evolution of rosé into a serious fine wine category while remaining unmistakably Provençal. " Notes of tangerine, peach, and a subtle hint of oak and vanilla. Critics note that the time in barrel lends an "almost creamsicle-like aspect" and a pleasing chalky grip that pairs beautifully with fine dining. " -- Wine Advocate |
