| Tasting Note | : | (2017) Intriguingly, a Blanc de Blancs, Chardonnay wine from the prime Pinot Noir village of Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims. That delivers an equally intriguing wine, seemingly fresh, simple, apple and citrus-fruited at first, but then a meatiness and creaminess develops. The mousse is fine and persistent, the acidity riveting, but that iron fist in a velvet glove backbone drives the finish. I really enjoyed this grower Champagne." - 92/100, Tom Cannavan |
