Guastaferro is a boutique family winery located in Taurasi, the historic heart of Campania's Aglianico-growing region. Founded by Raffaele Guastaferro, the estate is dedicated to expressing the distinctive volcanic terroirs of Irpinia through traditional viticulture and restrained winemaking. Vineyards are planted on clay and volcanic soils at moderate elevations, producing wines that combine the grape's hallmark power with freshness and finesse. While the winery is best known for its Taurasi DOCG, Memini Irpinia Aglianico offers a more approachable expression of Aglianico, highlighting the variety's vibrant fruit, firm structure and mineral character while remaining true to its regional identity.

The 2019 Memini displays aromas of black cherry, blackberry and ripe plum layered with notes of leather, tobacco, black pepper, smoke and crushed volcanic stone. The palate is concentrated yet energetic, offering flavours of dark berries, sour cherry and liquorice framed by fresh acidity and finely grained tannins. Hints of dried herbs and earthy minerality carry through to a persistent, savoury finish, reflecting the volcanic soils of Irpinia and the classic character of Aglianico.
