Bass Phillip was born from a single-minded obsession. In 1979, Phillip Jones — inspired by the wines of Henri Jayer and the great domaines of Gevrey-Chambertin — planted vines on the cool volcanic hillsides of Leongatha South in South Gippsland, determined to make Australia's finest Pinot Noir. More than four decades later, the estate has achieved exactly that, and more.
