Produttori del Barbaresco is one of Italy's most respected wine cooperatives and a benchmark producer of Nebbiolo. Founded in 1958 by the parish priest of Barbaresco, Don Fiorino Marengo, the cooperative today comprises around 50 grower families farming over 100 hectares of prime vineyards across the Barbaresco appellation. Its philosophy is to showcase the purity of Nebbiolo through traditional winemaking and meticulous vineyard management. While best known for its acclaimed Barbaresco and single-vineyard Riservas, the Langhe Nebbiolo is produced from younger vines and vineyards not destined for Barbaresco, offering an accessible yet authentic expression of the grape. The 2020 vintage in Barbaresco produced wines with excellent aromatic complexity, balanced acidity and refined tannins. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, this Langhe DOC is fermented in stainless steel with traditional skin maceration before ageing for approximately six to seven months in large Slavonian oak casks. The wine is medium-bodied and elegant, emphasising bright red fruit, floral aromatics and vibrant acidity rather than heavy extraction or new oak influence. It is approachable in its youth but retains the structure and classic character that make Nebbiolo one of Italy's greatest grape varieties.
