The Frescobaldi family has been producing wine in Tuscany for more than 700 years and is one of Italy's most distinguished wine dynasties. Alìe is produced at Tenuta Ammiraglia, the family's coastal estate in the heart of the Maremma region of southern Tuscany. Influenced by the Tyrrhenian Sea, the vineyards benefit from cooling maritime breezes, abundant sunshine and mineral-rich soils, creating ideal conditions for fresh, elegant wines. Named after Alìe, the sea nymph of Greek mythology, this rosé reflects the estate's close connection to the Mediterranean landscape, combining refinement, freshness and purity. A dry Toscana IGT rosé crafted from Syrah and Vermentino. The grapes are gently whole-bunch pressed under inert conditions to preserve delicate aromas, followed by cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is matured on its fine lees for approximately three months before bottling, resulting in a pale, elegant rosé with bright fruit, crisp acidity and a distinctive saline minerality derived from its coastal terroir. "A pretty, delicate and fruity rosé with chopped red apples, rose petals, pink grapefruit and peaches on the nose. Medium body with crunchy acidity. Crisp and clean pink berries and stone fruit." -- James Suckling |
