Tasting Notes :

Champagne Pierre Gerbais is an eighth-generation family estate based in Celles-sur-Ource in the Côte des Bar, the southernmost part of Champagne. The Gerbais family has cultivated vineyards since the late 19th century, with today's domaine led by Aurélien Gerbais. The estate is recognised for championing Pinot Blanc, an uncommon variety in Champagne, alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Farming is carried out sustainably with meticulous attention to vineyard health, while low dosage and extended lees ageing allow the character of the Côte des Bar's Kimmeridgian limestone soils to shine through. The Grains de Celles range represents the domaine's signature wines, showcasing the distinctive freshness, minerality and precision that have made Pierre Gerbais one of the region's most respected grower-producers.

An Extra Brut Rosé Champagne produced from approximately 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Blanc, with a small proportion of still Pinot Noir added for colour and complexity. The wine undergoes traditional bottle fermentation and extended ageing on its lees before disgorgement, with a low dosage of around 3g/L. The result is a dry, elegant rosé combining vibrant red fruit, crisp citrus acidity, fine mousse and pronounced chalky minerality, reflecting the cool-climate character of the Côte des Bar.

A delicate salmon pink with a persistent stream of fine bubbles. The bouquet reveals aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant, layered with blood orange, pink grapefruit, rosehip and subtle brioche. On the palate, the wine is lively and finely textured, balancing vibrant red berry fruit with crisp citrus, chalky minerality and refreshing acidity. Hints of toasted bread and dried flowers emerge with aeration, while the low dosage enhances the wine's purity and precision. The finish is long, dry and saline, with impressive finesse and energy.

" Praised its aromas of red berries, pear and freshly baked bread, with a medium- to full-bodied palate, ripe yet racy acidity and impressive intensity. " -- Wine Advocate, William Kelley
