Tasting Notes

La Rogerie (Famille Petit-Boxler) is a boutique family estate founded by Justine Petit-Boxler, a member of the renowned Boxler family of Alsace, together with her husband Rodolphe Peters of the celebrated Champagne house Pierre Peters. While La Rogerie is best known for its Grand Cru Champagnes, the estate has expanded into Alsace, drawing on the Petit-Boxler family's deep roots in the region.

The Schneid vineyard lies in Turckheim, one of Alsace's historic wine villages. Its well-drained granitic and alluvial soils, combined with the cool continental climate, produce Rieslings of remarkable purity, tension and mineral expression. Viticulture is carried out with a strong emphasis on sustainability, low yields and careful hand harvesting to preserve the character of the site.

The 2022 Schneid Turckheim is made from 100% Riesling and vinified in a dry style. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, followed by maturation on the fine lees to enhance texture while maintaining freshness and precision.

The warm, dry 2022 vintage produced a Riesling with excellent fruit concentration balanced by vibrant acidity. The wine displays aromas of white peach, apricot, citrus blossom, lemon zest and crushed stone. The palate is energetic and linear, featuring flavours of ripe citrus, orchard fruits and saline minerality, finishing long, dry and chalky with impressive precision. Despite its youthful accessibility, it has the structure to develop additional complexity over the coming decade.

" A finely detailed, mineral-driven Riesling with excellent concentration and purity. Bright citrus, stone fruit and floral aromas are supported by vibrant acidity, precise structure and a long, saline finish. The "+" reflects its potential to gain further complexity with bottle age.
